Dr Damian Shanahan graduated from the University of Queensland in 1990 and has worked in rural areas of Queensland and Sydney City. Damian is the current principle and owner at Beach Dentists.
Damian has completed many post graduate courses and is a fellow for the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Damian’s passion is providing his patients with the highest quality dental care and treatment.

Dr Natalie Taoum completed her studies at Griffith University on the Gold Coast, and has since worked in regional Queensland before returning to Sydney. Dr Taoum enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, but is particularly passionate about orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. She is recognised for her keen eye for detail in transforming her patients’ smiles in a natural and conservative way, as well as for her gentle and caring personality which will have you forgetting about any discomfort of dental treatment.
Dr. Taoum ensures each patient receives a comfortable and relaxed experience, and is exceptionally good at treating children and dental-phobic patients.
Dr. Taoum is a member of the Australian Dental Association, and has completed extensive training in orthodontics through the IAADent, as well as having received the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons Prize.
She is also a registered provider of Clear Correct and Invisalign.
Alex has grown up on the Northern Beaches, living in Avalon most of her life and recently settled with her young family in Newport.
She has worked in the dental industry for over 17 years, and decided to take her love of dentistry and caring for patients further, graduating from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2010.
After more than 11 years of experience as a Hygienist, patient care is paramount to Alex and she takes pride in providing gentle yet comprehensive treatment in a comforting environment.
Over her career, Alex has completed many courses to expand her skill set and is passionate about preventative care, treating gum disease and improving a patients smile and function creating greater quality of life.
In 2011 Alex attended In-office whitening for Dental Practitioners at the University of Queensland. Since then she has maintained her love of brightening smiles through teeth whitening, particularly enjoying seeing patients delight in results.
We now know there are strong links between oral health and systemic health and Alex truly believes achieving oral health equals total health, having a confident smile on top of it is the icing on the cake.
In her spare time Alex enjoys spending quality time with her friends, family, and two daughters, enjoying all the beaches has to offer.
Brady is a skilled Oral Health Therapist who graduated from Charles Sturt University in 2016. Originally from Orange, he trained in Wagga Wagga and has experience in both rural and metropolitan dental settings, including specialist orthodontic clinics.
Since moving to Sydney in 2018, Brady has earned a strong reputation for his patient-focused care and clinical excellence. He’s passionate about preventive dentistry and early intervention, helping patients maintain healthy smiles for life.
Brady has completed extensive postgraduate training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, with advanced expertise in Invisalign and orthodontic treatments. He is committed to ongoing learning and innovation in oral healthcare.
Currently in his final year of postgraduate nursing studies, Brady brings a unique, holistic approach that integrates dental and general health for well-rounded patient care.
Outside of work, Brady enjoys travelling, exploring new cuisines, and spending time with friends. A fan of live music and culture, he loves discovering the creative side of every city he visits.
